Thrift Finds

Last week I told you about my lady date with Leah. Well, here are the thrift finds from our lady date:

I am going crazy for over blankets. I’m especially loving knit blankets with zig-zag patterns…like the one below! I just thrifted a yellow and brown one last month. You can see it in the photo above.

I thrifted two fuchsia blouses. I wore the other one on my Fuchsia & Plaid outfit post on the Adrian Loves Owls blog from yesterday.

I enjoy matching separates together so I’ve been thrifting skirts like crazy lately. Check out these four new ones below:

I also thrifted this plaid skirt, which I wore for an outfit post on the ALO blog.

I need to find a fancy event to wear this little gold dress to:

I just wore this blouse on Tuesday. You can see the outfit post from today by clicking HERE.

I obviously love shopping for clothes, but more than that I love hunting for unique vintage items, like this owl napkin / salt & pepper shaker holder:

The blouse & skirt that I’m wearing in THIS outfit post were also thrifted from the same thrifting adventure with Leah. As you can see, I like to wear my thrift finds as soon as I get them! :) I hope to go thrifting again soon, but I probably won’t have an all day thrifting adventure for a few weeks. I’ve got a packed schedule for the next couple of weekends, but I hope to get back at it soon!

Lady Date: Lunch & Thrifting

Leah and I went on a lady date a couple of weekends ago. We went out to lunch at The Dhaba in Tempe and then thrifting. We had a blast, like usual :)

We ordered the sampler veggie platter as our appetizer:

Leah ordered a wrap with french fries and  I ordered potatoes and cauliflower. We also shared a spinach & garbanzo bean dish and rice with veggies. The food was delicious, as it always is! The server was very helpful and knowledgeable about which items on their menu were vegan (which was quite a few)!

After our lunch, we stopped by Starbucks to get a couple of coffees:

We found a ton of things to try on:These did not make the cut:For a little while, our thrift finds all had the same color scheme:

Leah and I purchased a bunch unique things. Like that owl napkin holder (above). We’ll be sharing our thrift finds post soon! Happy thrifting!

What I Wore: Light Blue + Gray

Blouse: vintage / Skirt: vintage Socks: Old Navy Shoes: vintage

I wore this outfit to work last Tuesday. It was super nice out that day so I took a walk through campus to visit the Farmer’s Market where I ate an amazing vegan tamale! Yuuuum!

If you follow my personal blog, Adrian Loves Owls, you might have noticed an upcoming Superstition Vintage giveaway that I spoke about. I’m sponsoring the Cheeky Cheeky blog this month and will be hosting a giveaway shortly to STAY TUNED!!

What I Wore: Vintage to the Office

Dress: vintage / Cardigan: vintage Belt: thrifted Sandals: vintage

I wore this outfit to work last week or the week before possibly. The dress was thrifted last fall, but I’ve only worn it a couple of times because it’s so sheer. I have to wear a slip underneath and I don’t like wearing ‘em! This cardigan, however, gets a lot of use. I thrifted it over a year ago and I probably wear that thing more than anything else in my closet. I only wish I had it in 5 other colors, because I love it so much!

I’ve been kind of slacking on listing things in the shop. I’ve been pretty busy over the last couple of weekends (if you follow my personal blog Adrian Loves Owls, you’ll see that I’ve had a lot going on the last few weekends) and I just haven’t gotten around to editing photos and measuring clothing. Nothing really gets accomplished during the week for me, but I promise that I will get to it this weekend! Sunday is my catch up day!

Have a great week! Oh and one more thing: I am now on Instagram! Follow me: @AdrianLovesOwls

Thrift Finds

What up peeps?!Aren’t these little guys cute? They’re a couple of Avon perfume bottles that I picked up on a trip to Goodwill last weekend! They’re really small and too adorable.  I also got this hanging glass….pot….thing.  I haven’t decided what I’m going to put in it yet and right now it is just hanging from the ceiling.  Any ideas? I also picked up this pretty vintage sweater and I’ve already worn it to work this week…I got these vintage blue shoes not too long ago too.  I didn’t have any Navy shoes and they fit great so I am excited to switch up some of my currently existing outfits with these gold and blue beauties…I don’t think this vase requires much explanation as its awesomeness is apparent.  She (yes, she) is my favorite recent thrift find!I am starting quite the pillow collection and I snagged up this peach colored heart shaped pillow this weekend….soon you won’t even be able to see the couch! : /I fell in love with these shoes when I saw them at the thrift store. Aren’t the bow laces so neat? They’re too small for me (by just a smidge) so they will be going in the shop!

Adrian and I are going thrifting this weekend (duh).  Keep your fingers crossed that we find lots of great stuff!

A Tea Party

Hey there!

Last Saturday, Leah and I attended a Tea Party and it was so lovely! My mother-in-law co-hosted the event with a member of her church. Family, friends and other church goers were invited to attend a fancy Tea Party to benefit the the Child Crisis Center. Each person donated a set of children’s summer pajamas for the kids at the Child Crisis Center and some folks brought other items too!

Our hosts: Debbie & Debbie (my mother-in-law is the one on the left)

My mother-in-law made these really cute felt napkin holders:

They served salad, quiche, a croissant and chocolate covered strawberries.

My beautiful (and incredibly intelligent) niece, Riley.

The Tea Party was alot of fun and it was filled with so many pretty things. The two ladies that hosted the Tea did such a wonderful job. Leah and I had a great time and the weather was beautiful. We were so happy to see so many people donate to this great organization.

We hope you’re having a great week! We are going to be adding a ton of things to the shop over the next couple of weeks so make sure you go check it out!

Hi There!

Superstition Vintage has an item that was featured in this lovely Treasury on Etsy. I’m just loving all the colors and floral patterns:

Here are a few other spring items on Etsy that I’m swooning over right now:

Repurposed Vintage Retro Floral Skirt (made from a dress) by Red Velvet // $16.00

Floral Print Day Dress by Desert Maiden Vintage // $30.00

I may have to snag up all three of these items on pay day. They’re all so reasonably priced and perfect for spring. Have a lovely Wednesday, everyone!

Around the Ultrawebs

Hey ya’ll!

So…I feel like I haven’t done an outfit post in forever! Things have been a little crazy around these parts lately but I do still find time to check out some of my very favorite blogs.  Here are some interesting posts I’ve read lately:

Erin from Calivintage is blogging throughout her laid back trip to Hawaii (jealous!)…

Mandi from Here’s looking at me kid is seriously just about the cutest pregnant gal ever…

Our very own Adrian and her husband Jayare celebrated their 1st wedding anniversary with a mid-day picnic date (congrats!)

Rebecca from the Manzanita blog did this creative DIY with wooden spoons (doing this as soon as I can thrift the utensils!)…

Andi showed off her beautiful tea cup collection…I love this one with the jockey and horse on it…

Alice made some delicious looking Vegetarian Spring Rolls.  (Be sure to check out her blog, she has an adorable pot bellied pig named Paris!!)

and the ever-amazing Kaylah of The Dainty Squid made these super neat scratch off discount tickets for her shop, Circus Bear! Check out her blog to see how you can make some!…

It’s good to see everyone else is keeping up with their posting (lol).  Hopefully I will be back to thrifting and all that vintage goodness in no time. :) Take care!
